Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. — 3 John 1:2 KJV
This scripture hit hard with me today. Do you think you’re a good person? I mean really dig down deep and seriously think about it. Are you a good person? Are there reasons why you believe that you are a good person?
Do you ever feel like you need a soul workout? Like a soul cleanse? That’s been me lately. I feel as if I have held a lot in, and I haven’t made it a priority to cleanse my soul. That could be as bad as the purge, haha.
But really think about it. You ever get so tired of being just soul driven but you never quite feel satisfied with anything? It happens to me quite a bit.
If you know me well enough, you would know that I love to workout, and fitness has become a big part of my life. Now I would actually shed the weight if I would eat right, but food is like my third best friend. I can’t give up the junk to save my life. Fruit gushers or almonds? Come on. Almonds don’t even really have a flavor.
How are you suppose to be satisfied with your souls appetite, if you don’t even feed it what it needs?
Most people are so worried about what’s on the outside, that they quite often forget about the inside. You could feel SO AMAZING about your body, and the people that surround you. You could feel like you got it made. But as soon as you go home, and lay down ALONE, what is it that you feel? Do you feel fulfillment? Or are you just kind of empty, and you crave ones attention?
Give your soul a workout. Pray. You can pray about anything. You might sound crazy, but seriously, just pray. Start talking out loud about your insecurities. Talk about that friend that hurt your feelings. Pray about that attention crave from the boy or girl that is to busy to talk to you right now. Pray to the Lord, he will answer. Just praying and giving all your problems to God, is soul cleansing. That is called pouring your heart out. You cannot be judged, and you are always forgiven. Isn’t that the best medicine for one’s soul? I think it is.
It physically makes me tired to pour my heart out and pray. You are literally giving your soul a work out.
So when I read this verse today, it made me think well you spend so much time working on your outside appearance and bottling up the rest. Then I end up taking it out on my husband or someone else in my path. Then you have two problems. Your still insecure and now your in the dog house with someone that does judge your action and makes it hard to forgive because you hurt them.
Cleanse your souls people! Work it out! Let it all out, and just pray about it. Give it all to God, and quit caring your burdens and others burdens around. Don’t you want to feel amazing on the inside too?
