Pregnancy Dry Skin Cure

It has been a REAL struggle the last nine months, but let me tell you, one of the many things I struggled with was having pregnancy dry skin. ON MY FACE! It never really got like a flaky dry, but it would just feel raw, almost like chapped. Don’t even get me started on my lips. They were starting to bleed on me! Maybe because I was pregnant throughout the entire winter, might have had something to do with it. My face has never been dry my entire life. I had NO clue what to do at that point. I have always had an issue with acne prone skin, and oil! Now I am experiencing the complete opposite. I am writing this to bring you knowledge about the amazing products I found that REALLY helped, with the exception of being able to do facials every 3-4 weeks. (Part of my self care routine, also slightly spoiled.) I am going to post the products with the link on where to buy them at. Let me just say, I LOVE ULTA BEAUTY! I feel so bad for you guys if you don’t have one close or near you! I have a credit card for there, which is probably like really bad news. But I guess it is what it is! (Not being such a great influence right now). I literally buy all my makeup, skin care products, hair care products, hair tools, and get my facials done there. Which brings me to my first bullet point, my facials!

I visit Ulta every 3-4 weeks for my facial. Let me just say, it’s one of the best facials I’ve ever had. The girl who does them, her name is Jasmine, is amazing! Let me tell you about the facials at Ulta! They are an hour and 15 minutes. Which is way more time than a actual spa does. Every spa that I have tried out has been only an hour, and half the time don’t even start till 15-20 min later, so you get cheated out of your money and it’s super overpriced. At Ulta you get a full hour and 15 minutes, and it only cost $60. This is for a customized facial. It’s amazing. So when I realized that I had the driest skin ever I started seeing Jasmine at Ulta, and she did a customized facial for my dry skin, after about 2 of those, my skin started looking amazing, and I started using some really great products. If you use any of these and you like them please let me know! Cause we will be on the same page! They are some of my favorites!

The first product is called Key West Aloe! This product I actually got at one of my facial appointments when I got my first facial ever. It was a spa near my house. They did a good job, it was just very overpriced, but I ended up loving this cleanser that they sold me. It’s very gentle and contains 30% real aloe in it, which has skin calming effects. It definitely does the job for a cleanser. Click on the image to take you to the website where you can find it for yourself!

This is the product that I use for a exfoliant. It has little pieces of almond in it, that work for the exfoliating part. It is a light exfoliate. It smells pretty good too, just a faint smell of almonds. I usually use this 3-4 times a week along with the cleanser. You can find this product at Ulta!

The next product I like to use after cleansing and exfoliant is Thayer Witch Hazel Rose Petal! This is one of my absolute favorites. I love a good toner, and none the less a witch hazel one! Witch hazel is so good for the skin. The good thing about this one is it doesn’t dry my skin out. Which is great, since that is the problem I am having in the first place. You can also find this at Ulta. Or your local Walgreens, or CVS. I normally pick it up at Ulta because I’m there all the time!

After I have cleansed, exfoliated, and toned, I use this vitamin C serum! This stuff is absolutely amazing. It literally brightens my skin within the first 5 seconds of me wearing it. It can also be used at night time, and mostly day time wear, because it is a moisturizer also. Which means it isn’t drying your face out, and the serum isn’t taking in moisture out. You can also find this product at Ulta.

Second to last product I like to use is the sugar lip scrub by beauty bakerie. I really like the vanilla flavor. I don’t know what it is about being pregnant, but this child has literally sucked every ounce of moisture from my body, especially my lips. I thought my face was bad? Not compared to my lips. The best thing about this exfoliant is that it is it’s a two in one. It is a scrub and a moisturizer. So it kills two birds with one stone. I use it mainly as an exfoliant. I just started using this about a week ago and I really do like it, and will continue to use it.

And last but not least, the best of them all! The Kiehl’s brand Buttermask For Lips! I use this stuff around the clock all day long. It is one of the best lip balms I have ever used. It stays on for an extremely long time, even through eating and drinking, and it has been a real life saver. This can also be bought at Ulta!

I really hope all of these products are SUPER useful for some of you ladies that are experiencing some of the same problems I am in pregnancy, and even if you aren’t pregnant! These products have saved my life the past few months! Now I don’t think I could live without them!

[…] I did a blog post last month on the products that I have been using for about 6-7 months now and you… I loved ALL of them, and I still plan on using them, even though I have this new haul of skin care products, I know I can always go back to my old ones. They are all empty at the moment, which is the reason I did a new skincare shopping haul anyway. Plus, I want to be stocked up before my little one makes his arrival. […]
